The carnival parade in Altdorf UR on Monday was disrupted by a motorist who drove towards the event. The police have ruled out a terrorist background.

The man drove towards the parade for a "purely personal motive", the Uri cantonal police announced at the request of the Keystone-SDA news agency. He was briefly stopped and investigated by the police.

The incident was first reported by "20 Minuten". According to the report, a Porsche driver drove up to the parade shortly after 2.15 pm. He was stopped there by the organizers of the event. A scuffle ensued in which two people were injured. The police confirmed the incident.
