Our faithful digital companions need constant power and need to be charged regularly. A simple procedure carried out thousands of times. No problem at all ... right?

There are heaps of useful tips and tricks, but also numerous myths and misinformation, surrounding the "correct charging" of our cell phones. In fact, this everyday charging process is quite susceptible to faults. And the reasons for slow or interrupted charging processes are numerous: Weak energy sources or invisible damage caused by bending the cable or dropping the power supply units. Extreme temperatures can also affect the performance of the cell phone battery, as can contaminated charging connections or outdated charging accessories that do not conform to the model.

The devil is in the detail

However, there is another inconspicuous, almost banal and yet widespread cause of charging problems: the phone case! It can happen that your cell phone is only partially connected without you noticing, the plug has no contact and the charging process is disrupted or interrupted completely.

To avoid this annoyance, we recommend that you always use the latest accessories, i.e. suitable phone cases, charging cables and adapters from trustworthy manufacturers and, if in doubt, remove the phone from the case for charging.

Of course, you can elegantly avoid this problem with wireless charging, but the case can also become a problem if it is too thick, made of metal, leather or not suitable for wireless charging for other reasons.

3 quick tips for charging your cell phone:

  • Run optimal charge cycles between 20 and 80%.
  • Only use quality accessories.
  • Avoid extreme temperatures during the charging process.
