Football City of Lucerne discontinues reversion procedure for Swissporarena

The Lucerne City Council has discontinued the Swissporarena reversion proceedings initiated in the fall of 2023. It came to the conclusion that no contractual obligations towards the city had been breached in the dispute over the violation of pre-emptive rights to the stadium shares.

In settlement talks, Bernhard Alpstaeg had assured the city council that the building rights agreement had always been complied with and would continue to be complied with in the future, the city council announced on Tuesday. He had also assured that the home matches of FC Lucerne and the European Women's Football Championship 2025 could continue to be held.
