The city of Zurich has suspended a teacher who teaches in Zurich. The teacher is accused of "transgressive behavior". The public prosecutor's office is investigating possible offenses against sexual integrity.

A spokesperson for the public prosecutor's office confirmed a report by "20 Minuten" to Keystone-SDA, according to which the teacher is currently in police custody. The public prosecutor's office is examining how to proceed. With reference to the ongoing proceedings and the protection of privacy, no further details will be provided. The presumption of innocence applies.

The teacher was released by mutual agreement, as the City of Zurich's Department of Education and Sport previously announced on Tuesday. The school management had received information about the transgressive behavior from a member of staff.

According to the press release, the school management and district school authorities then called in the child protection department of the city police and informed the cantonal education authority. Contact points have been set up for any affected children and their parents.
