The level 4 warning - i.e. high risk and therefore the second-highest risk level - is valid until Sunday night, as announced by the Federal Office of Climatology and Meteorology (MeteoSwiss) on X. Accompanying symptoms include high lightning activity, heavy rain and landslides on steep slopes and the sudden occurrence of tidal waves or flooding in streams. According to MeteoSwiss, the same also applies in Graubünden for the municipality of Bregaglia in Bergell.

In the region around St. Moritz GR and in the Safiental valley in Graubünden, MeteoSwiss classifies the risk of persistent rain from tomorrow, Friday, as considerable. According to the federal office, landslides on steep slopes and road traffic restrictions due to poor visibility or flooding may also occur there.

From western to north-eastern Switzerland, MeteoSwiss also classifies the risk of thunderstorms as considerable from late Thursday afternoon until Sunday night. Here too, heavy rain, high lightning activity, possible flooding of bodies of water and hail are expected. However, the probability of occurrence is classified as low.
