Economy Consumer sentiment in February again clearly up on the previous year
According to the index, consumer sentiment in Switzerland is significantly better than a year ago. In February 2025, the index calculated by the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) stood at minus 33.6 points, which is 8.7 points higher than in the same month last year.

According to the Seco press release on Monday, the sub-indices Past financial situation, Expected financial situation and Time for major purchases were above the level of February 2024. The expected economic development sub-index is lower than a year ago.
The consumer sentiment index is published monthly on the basis of a Seco survey. Data has been collected since 1972. In contrast to many common economic indicators, consumer sentiment refers to private households.
