Retail trade Coop and unions fail to reach agreement in wage negotiations
The retailer Coop and the trade unions have failed to reach an agreement in wage negotiations. The talks have failed, according to a joint statement from the unions Unia and Syna, OSCT and the Swiss Commercial Association on Monday.

Coop had rejected the demanded full compensation for inflation, compensation for health insurance premiums and a real wage increase. The associations were therefore unable to agree to the outcome of the wage negotiations.
However, the social partners consider it positive that Coop refrained from an individual wage round and agreed to a general wage increase for all employees subject to the collective labor agreement (CLA).
Coop also announced on Monday that wages will generally increase by "at least" one percent next year for employees with a CLA. Meanwhile, the salaries of management staff will be increased "individually", with the increase in total wages also amounting to one percent. Coop has reportedly reached this agreement with the Coop Employees' Association (VdAC).
