The retail group generated a 3.6 percent higher net profit of CHF 606 million in 2025, as the company announced on Tuesday. By contrast, operating profit EBIT fell by 5.9 percent to CHF 840 million.
As already announced in January, currency-adjusted sales grew by 2.3 percent overall to 35.5 billion Swiss francs. The Cooperative Group achieved growth in supermarkets, specialty formats, wholesale and production.
"This turnover is a new record", said Coop CEO Philipp Wyss at the media conference in Dietikon. The retail trade in Switzerland is under pressure and competition has never been as intense as it is today.
Nevertheless, Coop is developing positively in "all areas": "We have gained market share everywhere", said Wyss. New customers have also been added.
The company is therefore well positioned for the current year: "In the current complex political world situation, Coop is optimistic about the future," writes Coop.
