The Pegasos association does not have a building permit for assisted suicide in Nunningen SO. This was decided by the Solothurn Administrative Court in support of the authorities. The association must submit a building application.

If the premises of a guest house are used for assisted suicide, this is a significant change of purpose that requires an explicit building permit, as the ruling of the administrative court states.

The focus of such a facility is on medical and psychological end-of-life care and is therefore not covered by a permit for the hospitality industry. The decisive factor is the potential psychological discomfort of the neighborhood. The knowledge of the hidden processes in the building could cause anxiety.

The Pegasus association runs a hospice for the dying in the small municipality of Nunningen, also for people from abroad. The property purchased by the association is home to a country inn and a guest house, for which a building permit was granted in 2022. According to the Solothurn public prosecutor's office, there were a total of 140 assisted suicides in 2025.
