A Brazilian man tried to smuggle five kilograms of cocaine into Switzerland behind a false bottom in his suitcase at Zurich Airport.

Employees of the Federal Office for Customs and Border Security caught a man from Brazil at Zurich Airport with five kilograms of cocaine in his suitcase. He returned to the airport the day after his arrival to collect the suitcase, which had initially disappeared.

The suspected smuggler was discovered when he tried to pass through the green passageway at Zurich Airport, according to a statement issued by the Federal Office for Customs and Border Security (FOCBS) on Thursday. The incident took place on April 6.
The inspection team found irregularities in the lower part of the suitcase. The BAZG employees found around five kilograms of cocaine in a false bottom. The traveler and the cocaine were handed over to the Zurich cantonal police for further proceedings.
