The Federal Office for Customs and Border Security seized significantly more smuggled cigarettes and narcotics in 2025. At the same time, cases of irregular migration decreased, as the annual report shows.

Customs officers removed a total of 1.6 million smuggled cigarettes from circulation, as reported by the Federal Office for Customs and Border Security (FOCBS) on Wednesday. In the previous year, the figure was 950,000.

There was also a marked increase in narcotics: The amount of marijuana seized almost quadrupled to 4235 kilograms. The quantity of designer drugs rose from 175 to 2415 kilograms.

Meanwhile, the number of illegal stays detected in the context of irregular migration halved to 14,577 cases.

The FOCA's revenue amounted to 23.4 billion francs, slightly below the previous year's figure.
