Rail traffic on the SBB line between Basel and Olten is expected to be restricted until midday on Thursday. This is due to damage to a cable of the safety equipment during night-time construction work in the Hauenstein Base Tunnel.

Specialists have been called out to repair the damaged cable, according to SBB. This resulted in train cancellations, detour and delays. SBB is providing ongoing information via a live ticker. In Basel, Bern, Olten and Zurich, additional staff are on duty at the stations to inform travelers.
