The accused's lawyer at the Uster ZH district court has requested an acquittal. The 30-year-old Swiss man had acted in self-defense when he stabbed a man after going out in Uster in November 2022.

The accused was physically far inferior to his opponent, said the defense lawyer at the hearing at the Uster district court on Tuesday afternoon. He had panicked and feared for his life when the much taller and heavier man sat on him and punched him. He had no other way to defend himself than to use the knife.

In the event that the court does not grant the motion for acquittal, the lawyer demanded a conviction for intentional homicide in an act of self-defense. The 30-year-old Swiss man should be sentenced to four years' imprisonment for this.

The reason for the dispute between him and the victim was a ride in the victim's car. Both had previously attended a private birthday party in Uster and did not know each other beforehand. The incident took place in the early hours of the morning in the parking lot in front of the bar where the party was taking place.
