Shots have apparently been fired at a rally featuring prospective US presidential candidate Donald Trump. A bang was heard during an appearance by Trump in Butler in the US state of Pennsylvania. Trump could be seen clutching his neck with his right hand. There appeared to be blood on his face. He ducked behind a barrier while members of his protection detail rushed onto the stage and screams could be heard in the crowd. The banging noises continued.
The security service announced that Trump was safe. Trump's campaign team stated that the 78-year-old was doing well. The former president was being examined in a medical facility. "President Trump thanks law enforcement and first responders for their swift action during this heinous act," said spokesman Steven Cheung.
