Bern Driver injured in accident in St. Stephan

In the municipality of St. Stephan in the Simmental, a driver was seriously injured in an accident on Thursday evening. He had to be flown to hospital by Rega.

The accident occurred shortly before 8.30 p.m., as the Bernese cantonal police reported in a press release on Friday. The passenger remained uninjured.

According to current information, the driver left the road on a right-hand bend coming from Zweisimmen near Muleberg. The vehicle then collided with a wooden pole and came to a standstill on the oncoming lane.

The circumstances of the accident are under investigation.
