The Dutch salvage company Boskalis has been commissioned to salvage the burning oil tanker "Stena Immaculate" off the British coast.

Four ships with extinguishing material are on their way to the scene of the accident, a Boskalis spokesperson told the Dutch news agency ANP. "We first have to cool and ensure that the temperature on the ship drops below a certain level, and then we can make an attempt to extinguish the fire."

On Monday, the container ship "Solong" collided with the tanker loaded with aviation fuel in the North Sea. Both ships caught fire. Kerosene is leaking from the tanker.

The "Solong" was on its way to Rotterdam. There is great concern about pollution of the North Sea.
