Edelweiss achieved sales of more than 900 million Swiss francs in 2025, said airline CEO Bernd Bauer in an interview with the news agency AWP on Tuesday on the sidelines of a media conference to present the new cabin equipment in the Airbus A350 long-haul aircraft: "From that point of view, I am quite satisfied with the year 2025."
This means that turnover has exceeded the previous record set the year before: in 2024, Edelweiss achieved a turnover of 900 million Swiss francs and earned an operating profit of 81 million.
Bauer did not want to say anything about last year's operating profit: "We are still in the process of preparing the annual financial statements." In an interview with AWP last September, the Edelweiss CEO stated an EBIT target of CHF 80 to 85 million for 2025.
Record passenger numbers too
The vacation airline has also set a record in terms of passengers. A total of 3.3 million people flew with Edelweiss, said Bauer.
The capacity utilization of the aircraft was roughly at the same level as in 2024. At that time, 82 out of 100 seats were occupied. The fact that the load factor did not increase despite an increase of around 300,000 passengers is due to the fact that Edelweiss has larger aircraft in some cases.
The start to the new year has also been solid. "We have already received around a third of the bookings we need for the year," said Bauer. The level of bookings is at the same level as last year. This means that Edelweiss already has around 1.1 million bookings on its books.
