Emmi grew surprisingly strongly in 2025. The Lucerne-based milk processor benefited from acquisitions in the previous year, including in the dessert segment, as well as from good sales in the Americas region.

Emmi increased sales in Swiss francs by a whopping 9.1 percent to CHF 4.7 billion in the past financial year. Acquisition effects contributed 7.9 percent to growth. The manufacturer of caffé latte, cheese and yogurts achieved organic growth of 4.3 percent. By contrast, negative currency effects reduced the result by 3.1 percent.

According to Emmi, sales in the growth markets of Brazil, Chile and Mexico were above average. However, Emmi also achieved surprisingly strong growth in its home market of Switzerland. Europe, on the other hand, was weaker.

Premium desserts made a strong contribution to growth, according to the statement. In 2024, Emmi acquired the French patisserie group Mademoiselle Desserts, among others. The ready-to-drink coffee niche with Emmi Caffè Latte and specialty cheese also achieved pleasing growth rates overall.

Expectations exceeded

With its organic growth, the company clearly exceeded both its own target and analysts' forecasts. Emmmi itself expected organic growth of 2 to 3 percent. Analysts in the AWP consensus had expected 2.8 percent. Emmi emphasized that the positive volume development in particular exceeded its own growth targets.

By region, sales rose strongly, particularly in the Americas (org. +6.4%). The Global Trade division (5.6%), which supplies customers in countries where Emmi does not have its own companies with direct exports from Switzerland, also recorded above-average growth. By contrast, business in the Swiss domestic market (+3.4%) recorded a smaller increase, as expected. Europe (+1.4%) performed weakly in comparison.

From the 2026 financial year, the Emmi Group intends to strengthen its health strategy with the introduction of the "nutrition+" platform. The Group is thus expanding another growth area in functional dairy products.

The profit figures for 2025 will be announced on February 26. The company considers itself to be on track. According to Emmi, negative currency effects and US tariffs were largely offset thanks to its decentralized business model, efficiency programmes and cost discipline. The Group confirmed its forecasts for EBIT and net profit margin at the lower end of the ranges and its medium-term targets unchanged.
