The Graubünden mountain village of Brienz can be inhabited and entered normally again from next Monday. The current ban on entry and the evacuation will be lifted after 62 weeks, the municipality of Albula announced in the latest bulletin on the Brienz landslide on Thursday.

From next Monday, the village of Brienz/Brinzauls, which has been threatened by a rockslide for months, will return to the green phase. From then on, the village can be inhabited as normal and the agricultural land can be freely cultivated again, according to the bulletin.

The end of the evacuation is possible because the movements measured high above the village on the mountain have calmed down. "The acute danger from the rockfall area high above the village has decreased so much since the debris flow at the end of November 2025 that it is safe to stay in the village again," the municipality of Albula continued.

The Postbus route 183 between Lenzerheide and Davos will also be running via Brienz again from Monday.
