A former judge of the Graubünden Administrative Court was found guilty of rape, sexual harassment and threatening a former trainee by the Plessur Regional Court. The court imposed a prison sentence of 23 months, which was suspended.
The credibility of the 27-year-old former intern played a decisive role in the verdict, which was published on Tuesday. In addition to the prison sentence, the ex-judge was sentenced to a fine of 60 daily rates of 90 francs each, also suspended. He must also pay a fine of 2,300 francs.
However, the charge of written sexual harassment was dropped. The court ruled that "in the absence of intent in dubio pro reo", the defendant was acquitted on this point.
