Arson attack Fatal Postbus fire was deliberately caused by Swiss national
According to initial findings by the police, the post bus fire on Tuesday evening in Kerzers FR was a "deliberate act with no ideological motive". The deceased perpetrator was a "mentally unstable" Swiss national living in the canton of Bern.

This was announced to the media by the Fribourg cantonal police in Granges-Paccot FR on Wednesday. The thesis of a deliberate arson is in the foreground. There is nothing to suggest a terrorist background.
At least six people died in the attack. The suspected perpetrator - a man in his sixties - is probably among the dead, according to the police. The identity of the other victims is still pending. They include young people under the age of 18 and older people over the age of 64.
Two of the five injured people are still in hospital. All of the injured are residents of the region, it was reported.
According to the information available so far, the alleged perpetrator boarded the bus in Düdingen on Tuesday evening and set himself on fire forty minutes later. The police are also relying on eyewitnesses and the analysis of video surveillance on the bus for further investigations.
