Latest Deadly shooting at elite university in the USA
A gunman has killed two people and shot at least eight others at a university in the city of Providence in the US state of Rhode Island.

The injured were in a critical condition, Mayor Brett Smiley said at a press conference. The perpetrator is still on the run.
Brown University had previously announced that there were several victims as a result of gunshots. The university belongs to the so-called "Ivy League", the elite universities in the north-east of the USA.
The background to the shooting at the university remained unclear at first. There had initially been reports on Saturday (local time) that the shooter had been caught. US President Donald Trump had also written this on his Truth Social platform, but this turned out to be false.
The city of Providence, located south of Boston, has around 200,000 inhabitants and is the capital of the US state of Rhode Island.
