Two people died in a fire in an apartment building in Bulle FR on Tuesday night. Around 20 residents were injured, according to the Fribourg cantonal police.

The police were informed of the fire on Rue de Vevey shortly before 2.30 am. When the emergency services arrived on the scene, heavy smoke had already spread.

A 52-year-old man and his 13-year-old daughter died of carbon monoxide poisoning. A 48-year-old woman was flown to hospital by Rega. Around 20 people suffered poisoning and were hospitalized. Around 90 people had to be evacuated.

The source of the fire was located in the building's underground car park. The exact cause is currently being investigated. In total, there were around 60 vehicles in the underground garage.
