On Wednesday, the Federal Council adopted a national action plan against hate crime for the first time. This covers the period up to 2030 and can be extended. According to the Federal Council, progress has been made in terms of equality for LGBTIQ people and their rights.

However, discrimination as well as verbal, physical, psychological and sexualized violence against LGBTIQ people still occur in the everyday lives of this group of people. This has far-reaching consequences for them, particularly for their health.

The action plan was drawn up on behalf of Parliament. It comprises twelve measures and was drawn up by the Gender Equality Office and other stakeholders within and outside the Federal Administration.
