Fenaco, known for its brands such as Landi and Volg, has decided to increase the wage bill for 2025 by 1.2 percent. This increase is divided into 1.0 percent for individual salary adjustments and 0.2 percent for structural changes. At least two thirds of the workforce will benefit from this adjustment, as the company announced on Thursday.
Despite this announcement, the unions Syna and Unia are dissatisfied. They criticize the fact that the increases are not sufficient and demand that a larger proportion of the wage increase be granted as a lump sum. In their press releases, they described the exclusive focus on individual adjustments as "disappointing and insufficient".
According to Fenaco, the planned wage round will lead to a significant real wage increase, as the Swiss National Bank is forecasting inflation of 0.6 percent for 2025. Over the last ten years, wages at Fenaco have risen by a total of 11.0 percent, while inflation has amounted to 6.3 percent over the same period.
Fenaco is a major agricultural cooperative based in Berne, which consists of 145 agricultural organizations. These mostly operate under the Landi brand and are an integral part of the cooperative.
