Fire, fire Five people evacuated in Ticino due to fire in storage room

Five people were evacuated from a residential building in Melano in Val Mara in Ticino on Wednesday morning due to a fire in an adjoining storage room. No one was injured in the fire.

The fire broke out shortly before 11 a.m., according to the Ticino cantonal police. The entire storage room was engulfed in flames in a very short time. As a precautionary measure, the five residents of the adjoining residential building were temporarily evacuated.

The fire has since been extinguished, the police concluded.
