Five tourists have died in a snowstorm in the Torres del Paine National Park in Chile. Among the fatalities were two Germans, two Mexican nationals and a British woman, explained a representative of the region.

The tourists had been surprised by the snowstorm while exploring the national park, José Antonio Ruiz, representative of the Magallanes region, told the media on Tuesday.
Ruiz had previously announced the death of the two Mexicans and stated that seven other visitors to the park were still missing. Four of the missing were found alive.
The Torres del Paine National Park, which is popular with tourists, is known for its granite mountains, glaciers and impressive wildlife. It is located around 2800 kilometers south of the capital Santiago.
