Further connections are planned for the coming months. According to the company, Flixbuses are now operating in 45 countries on five continents.
"Flixbus is already a global success. In the coming years, we will continue to work on exploiting the enormous market potential in Latin America, Australia and India," explained Flix CEO André Schwämmlein in Munich. "We also have ambitious global growth plans for 2026," he announced.
Flix wants to change travel behavior
Schwämmlein's goal for Australia is to offer an attractive travel alternative to air travel and to change people's travel behavior in the long term. "Our aim must always be to offer a real alternative to domestic flights and private cars with affordable and sustainable mobility," he explained. "We have already achieved this in many other countries and are striving to do the same Down Under."
In addition to Australia, Flix currently has expansion plans in Latin America in particular. The company has announced that Flixbus will start operations in Peru this winter. This step was already taken in Mexico in May 2025, since when the service has been massively expanded. Flix relies on cooperation with local bus companies.
Flix includes the brands Flixbus, Flixtrain, Kamil Koç in Turkey and Greyhound in North America. The company has a market-leading position in many European countries, North America and Turkey. Flix has stated that it is aiming for net-zero emissions in Europe by 2040 and worldwide by 2050.
