According to a press release issued on Tuesday evening, the Gategroup Group increased its turnover in 2024 by 11 percent year-on-year to 5.21 billion Swiss francs. This means that sales once again exceeded the figures before the coronavirus crisis, when the company generated around 5.0 billion Swiss francs.
Operations also improved significantly. The operating result (EBITDA) rose by 73 percent to 391 million francs. However, the bottom line still showed a loss of 23.0 million francs due to high financial expenditure. In the previous year, however, the loss had still amounted to a high 148.5 million francs. Cash and cash equivalents amounted to CHF 355 million at the end of 2024 compared to CHF 285 million at the end of 2023.
"2024 was a year of action and confirmation," CEO Christoph Schmitz was quoted as saying in the press release. The company achieved its highest turnover ever in 2024, with all regions contributing to this result. The CEO believes the company is "well positioned" for a further improvement in its financial figures.
