More passengers were transported via Geneva Airport in 2024. Compared to the previous year, the number rose by just under 8 percent to almost 17.8 million.

The airport thus fell just short of the pre-crisis level of 2019. Compared to 2019, the year before Covid, the number of passengers is only 0.73% lower, as announced by Genève Aéroport on Thursday.

The trend towards larger aircraft is also continuing. Last year, the increase in passenger numbers was significantly higher than the increase in flight movements, which was due to the use of larger aircraft and better capacity utilization. In addition, Genève Aéroport's financial policy offers airlines an incentive to increase the occupancy rate per aircraft.

Meanwhile, the cargo segment has also increased significantly. Cargo handled at Geneva Airport in 2024 reached a volume of 90,705 tons. In the previous year, it was just 63,951 tons. An increase of 41.8 percent. This freight volume is the second-best result in the airport's history, according to the statement.
