A police patrol injured a violent man with a firearm in Oberurnen in the canton of Glarus. The 35-year-old had previously attacked a 27-year-old with a knife and inflicted stab wounds.

The Glarus cantonal police were alerted at 11.30 p.m. on Friday "due to an intervention in a domestic situation", as reported on Sunday. The patrol then came across an ongoing dispute. Both injured persons were hospitalized.

The cantonal public prosecutor's office is investigating the incident, the statement continued. An application for pre-trial detention has been made against the 35-year-old perpetrator. He has since been released from hospital.
