  • A guest in southern Germany ordered 16 beers.
  • He then wanted to pay for each beer individually.
  • The landlord then called the police.

In a pub in southern Germany, a 21-year-old ordered 16 beers one after the other and paid for each one individually with his EC card. This annoyed the landlord in Lower Bavaria, who finally called the police, according to the police.

He had to pay transaction fees of around 20 cents each time, the landlord told the officers. The guest from Latvia had no understanding for the landlord's anger on Monday evening and also showed a lack of understanding towards the police, it was reported. He was expelled from the pub and banned from the premises.

It was unclear whether the man drank the 16 beers himself or ordered them for other guests. In Germany, there is no obligation to accept card payment.
