According to a media report, one person was injured and property was damaged in an incident at Zurich Airport in August.
The Swiss Transportation Security Investigation Board and the military justice system are investigating the incident.
According to insiders, the helicopter pilot wanted to greet his colleagues in the tower.
A flight incident at an international airport is unlikely to happen - especially not during normal operations. But in mid-August, an incident occurred at Zurich Airport that raised a lot of questions and brought air traffic control and military justice onto the scene
The helicopter is said to have caused damage to the tower and injured one person. The exact background to the incident is still unclear - and is now being legally investigated.
Maneuver as a greeting to colleagues?
The Swiss Transportation Safety Investigation Board (Sust) has launched an investigation following the incident. The military justice system has also become involved, as reported by the newspapers of the "CH Media" group. Industry experts suspect a curious background to the incident.
An employee of the air traffic control company Skyguide is said to have paid a visit to his colleagues in the tower - with his helicopter. However, it was actually an army flight and the pilot is also a member of the militia.
He was apparently performing a manoeuvre just above the ground, during which downwash winds of over 100 kilometers per hour can occur.
Several cars damaged
Sust has now initiated "the usual investigative measures to clarify the facts of the case in coordination with the responsible authorities and agencies", but has not provided any further information due to the ongoing proceedings.
According to a military justice spokesperson, one person was injured in the incident and property damage was also caused. Several company cars were damaged, as was a building at the airport. The person was injured near the eye by a flying part that was whirled up by the rotor wind.
"Just plain stupid"
According to the report, this building was the tower. This is where the skyguide colleagues sit and regulate air traffic.
While the military justice system has also opened proceedings, insiders are rumoring that the helicopter pilot wanted to greet his skyguide colleagues in the tower during the action.
