Pension funds Highest return on pension capital for 25 years
2025 was a good investment year for Swiss pension funds. According to the pension fund consultant Complementa, the interest rate on insured persons' pension capital was higher than it has been for 25 years.

This is the result of the "Risk Check-up" published on Wednesday. The pension funds surveyed achieved an average return of 6.4% in 2025.
Employees' pension capital earned an average interest rate of 4.3%. According to Complementa, this is the highest value in 25 years. By comparison, the average over the past two decades was 3.5%.
According to Complementa, the so-called third contributor was primarily responsible for the good result. This refers to the income from the capital invested by the pension funds.
The investment income of the pension funds analyzed amounted to around 78 billion Swiss francs last year. This was higher than the combined contributions of employers and employees. They paid a total of around CHF 67 billion into the pension fund in 2025.
