With these acquisitions, Holcim is driving forward circular construction in Europe, Holcim announced on Tuesday. The building materials group has set itself the goal of recycling more than 20 million tons of construction and demolition materials annually by 2030.

With the takeover of the British demolition materials recycler Thames Materials, Holcim is expanding its presence to the Greater London area, the press release states. Holcim had already acquired Sivyer Logistics in east London in 2023.

Holcim has also acquired a majority stake in A&S Recycling in Hanover, meaning that the Group now has ten recycling hubs in Germany.

Finally, in France, the Swiss Group has signed an agreement to take over a demolition materials recycler in the north-west of the country. This brings the number of recycling centers nationwide to 28.
