The Lindau criminal investigation department confirmed a corresponding report by ORF Vorarlberg. The police do not believe that the body was the fault of a third party.
The autopsy of the body, which was found by kayakers between Hard and Lindau, did not reveal any evidence of external negligence either, as the police told the APA news agency. For the time being, neither the cause of death nor the identity could be clarified and further investigations are necessary.
Fatal accidents occur in Lake Constance every year. The statistics for 2023 list a total of 15 fatal accidents around the lake. In 13 cases, these were bathers. 103 people are currently missing.
