Construction industry Implenia posts strong profit growth in first half-year

Implenia continued to grow in the first half of the year and earned significantly more. In addition, a number of new orders came in, causing the order book to swell. The construction group maintained its full-year targets.

From January to June, sales rose by 6.6 percent to CHF 1.86 billion, as Implenia announced in a press release on Wednesday. The growth momentum is pleasing, wrote Switzerland's largest construction group.

Operating profit (EBIT) climbed by 12.9 percent to CHF 57.0 million. All divisions contributed to the increase in EBIT, it said. The operating profit margin improved to 3.1 percent from 2.9 percent in the same period of the previous year.

At the bottom line, the tills were ringing: Group profit jumped by over a quarter to 33.3 million Swiss francs.

Implenia was also able to land a number of major contracts. Overall, the order backlog grew by 9.8 percent to CHF 7.8 billion as a basis for future business.

The Group is sticking to its targets: Implenia is aiming for EBIT of around CHF 140 million for the 2025 financial year as a whole, compared with CHF 130.5 million in the previous year. In the medium term, the company aims to achieve an EBIT margin of over 4.5 percent and an equity ratio of 25 percent.
