An Indian plane with 147 passengers on board has made an emergency landing at Frankfurt Airport due to a bomb threat on its way from Delhi Airport to London. The threat was made via Platform X, said a spokesman for the Federal Police in the evening.

It stated that a bomb had been placed on board the Vistara airline plane. After becoming aware of this, the pilot had asked German air traffic control for permission to land. This request was granted and the flight was diverted to Frankfurt, where the plane landed at 9.02 pm.

The passengers then left the plane, which was then searched by police officers and explosives detection dogs, the spokesman continued. A bomb was not found and the plane was classified as safe. It was initially unclear when the plane would be able to continue its flight.

At the beginning of September, a passenger plane of the same airline on its way to Germany was diverted to an airport in eastern Turkey due to a bomb threat written on toilet paper on board. The plane had been en route from Mumbai to Frankfurt.
