According to the "Kronenzeitung" newspaper, Stefanie P. had an "on-off relationship" with the man. The 31-year-old was arrested while crossing the border in the Styrian-Slovenian border region in Slovenia. He is said to have set fire to his car, which was completely burnt out.

Two other men from his family were also taken into custody: They are his brother and his stepfather. According to the public prosecutor's office, they are strongly suspected of being involved in the disappearance of the young woman - possibly by aiding and abetting or concealing it.
