Following the fire disaster in a bar in Crans-Montana VS, most of the approximately 100 victims, many of them seriously injured, were taken to the Valais hospital on Thursday. Its intensive care unit is full.
The Valais hospital immediately activated the disaster plan, said Matthias Reynard, the Valais SP State Councillor, to the media on Thursday. Some of the injured would be transferred to the specialized university hospitals as soon as possible. Others had been taken directly to other university hospitals to be treated for serious burn injuries.
Reynard thanked the other cantons for their solidarity. According to him, ten helicopters, 40 ambulances and 150 paramedics were deployed.
