A court case concerning an anti-Israel action in Zurich has been thrown out: the 49-year-old defendant did not appear at the trial on Friday. Because he lives abroad, the Zurich District Court has to summon him again.

The accused had lodged an objection against a penalty order issued by the Zurich public prosecutor's office. This should have sentenced him to an unconditional prison sentence of 42 days for damage to property. The Irishman has already served two days.

Red paint in front of the Kunsthaus

During the action on November 25, 2024, three people threw red paint on the ground and over a visitor in front of the Kunsthaus. They also placed flyers calling the Israeli prime minister a "fascist". The accused filmed the action.

Inside the Kunsthaus at the time, an event was being held in aid of the Israel Museum in Jerusalem. Israeli ESC participant Eden Golan was one of the performers. No people were injured and the event was not disrupted.
