The French airline Air France plans to resume flights to the Lebanese capital Beirut from Thursday. However, the resumption of the Paris-Beirut route depends on the development of the security situation at the destination, the company announced. The situation on the ground will be assessed on a daily basis.

Air France had suspended its flights to Lebanon on July 29 for security reasons. The company stated that it was constantly monitoring the geopolitical situation in the regions it flies to and over in order to ensure the safety of passengers and crew.
Other airlines had also canceled flights to Lebanon in view of the growing tensions in the Middle East. Iran had threatened a retaliatory strike for the killing of Hamas' foreign chief in Tehran almost two weeks ago, but has not carried it out since.
