Following the breakthrough in the Gaza negotiations in Egypt, the departure of the delegations has reportedly begun. US special envoy Steve Witkoff and the son-in-law of US President Donald Trump, Jared Kushner, have left Sharm el-Sheikh and arrived in Cairo.

This was reported to Deutsche Presse-Agentur by the security authorities and the airport in the Egyptian capital. Air traffic observers also confirmed that a private jet with Witkoff and Kushner on board had left Sharm el-Sheikh.

Airport sources said that Qatar's Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani had also left the negotiating venue. He was on his way to Paris, where international chief diplomats are scheduled to meet today to discuss the implementation of the US peace plan for Gaza.

In addition to host France, Germany, Great Britain, EU foreign affairs representative Kaja Kallas, Qatar and other influential Arab states are also taking part in the Paris talks. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio is also expected to attend.

There was initially no official confirmation of the delegations' departure from Egypt.
