Israel's military says it has again killed several Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. According to the army, forces in the northern Gaza Strip identified several "terrorists" who had crossed the so-called yellow line and planted an explosive device. They had posed an "immediate threat" and were "eliminated" by the air force after being identified.

Israel has declared the so-called yellow line to be the new border with the Gaza Strip. The line marks the retreat position of the Israeli army as part of the ceasefire with the Islamist Palestinian organization Hamas. It is marked by yellow concrete elements and signs. Since the ceasefire began on October 10, there have been repeated fatal incidents.

According to various sources, Israel controls just over half of the Gaza Strip, which is around 41 kilometers long and between 6 and 12 kilometers wide. The Palestinian territory is therefore slightly smaller than the city of Cologne.
