This year's Arosa Humor Shovel goes to former Federal Councillor Ruth Metzler-Arnold.
The new President of Swiss Olympic was honored as a "courageous woman" who "takes responsibility and leads Swiss sport into the future at the forefront".
"With Ruth Metzler-Arnold, we are honoring a courageous woman who takes responsibility and leads Swiss sport into the future at the forefront. In addition to negotiating skills and assertiveness, she also needs a positive disposition - all of which characterize her," explained Arosa Tourism Director Roland Schuler at the award ceremony.
Since 2009, the Arosa Humor Shovel has been awarded to people who have made themselves known under the blanket of fog during the calendar year with their fine sense of humour, the Arosa Humor Festival continued.
Personalities from politics, business, culture, society and sport will be honored. In recent years, for example, entrepreneur Sami Saviris, Federal Councillor Guy Parmelin, national ice hockey coach Patrick Fischer and former Federal Councillors Doris Leuthard and Eveline Widmer-Schlumpf have been honored.
