Public service Authorities agree on key points of new asylum strategy
Asylum procedures are to be further accelerated, pending cases reduced more quickly, the system made more flexible and the integration of refugees promoted more bindingly. The federal government, cantons, cities and municipalities have agreed on these and other goals.

The authorities at all levels of government wrote in a joint statement on Friday that the restructured asylum system has basically proved its worth six years after coming into force. However, there is still room for improvement.
The aim of the new asylum strategy is to improve the system in a targeted manner. This requires additional legal adjustments in the area of security. The federal government, cantons, municipalities and cities also want to develop a clear regulation for the removal of S protection status or the transition to B status after five years.
The authorities now want to develop concrete measures in line with this political mandate.
