Germany Baerbock assures Habeck of support for election campaign

Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock praised Robert Habeck as "super-pragmatic" shortly before he was chosen as the Greens' lead candidate. As Economics Minister, he had stayed the course in times of crisis and freed Germany from its dependence on energy supplier Russia, Baerbock said at the federal Green Party conference in Wiesbaden.

"That's exactly what I want: you as chancellor," Baerbock said, addressing Habeck. "No one can turn the rudder in a storm like Robert Habeck and at the same time set the sails correctly with a tailwind." She promised him her support for the election campaign.
