National holiday Baume-Schneider has to cancel speech in Rorschach SG due to thunderstorm
The official August 1st celebration with Federal Councillor Elisabeth Baume-Schneider on Wednesday in Rorschach SG was canceled at short notice due to an approaching thunderstorm. The marquee was evacuated, as a reporter from the Keystone-SDA news agency reported.

The cancellation was made for safety reasons, said the head of security for the town of Rorschach. Several dozen people then left the festival grounds. It was raining heavily on site and thunder could be heard. The speech by the SP Federal Councillor had been scheduled for 7.00 pm.
Baume-Schneider's speech in Rorschach has been canceled. She will speak in Saint-Pierre-de-Clages VS on Thursday. In Rorschach, the Minister of the Interior had previously held an informal meeting with representatives of several municipalities, as a spokesperson for her department explained.
