Before his meeting with US President Donald Trump, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky talks to European allies in the evening. At Zelensky's request, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz (CDU) has invited him to a telephone conference in the format of the recent Berlin meeting, according to a government spokeswoman.

This is intended to inform the participants about the current state of negotiations, including security guarantees and territorial issues, the spokesperson said. The aim was to send "a signal of support for Ukraine". According to a spokesperson for the EU Commission in Brussels, the telephone call will take place with Selensky, Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and several European heads of state and government.
In addition, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney will meet with Zelensky this Saturday in Halifax, Canada (1:05 p.m. local time), according to the Canadian Prime Minister's schedule.
President Zelensky will then travel to Florida to meet US President Donald Trump, it was further reported. Trump will receive Selenskyj on Sunday. The White House announced the bilateral meeting in Palm Beach, Florida, for 3 p.m. local time (9 p.m. CET). The new top-level meeting will also discuss a possible end to the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine.
