Electric guitars instead of organ sounds: in future, the Reformed Churches of Bern-Jura-Solothurn will fund Metalchurch with 180,000 francs annually. It is thus taking the step from a project to a parish.

The church parliament, the synod, recognized Metalchurch as an associated parish on Tuesday, according to a press release. Previously, parishes were only organized territorially. This means that those believers who lived within the corresponding perimeter belonged to a parish.
With Metalchurch, the Reformed Churches of Bern-Jura-Solothurn have associated a so-called personal parish for the first time. Members from very different places of residence belong to it. What unites them is the topic. Nevertheless, the church has a clear connection to the canton of Bern. Church services are held in the Bern region.
The association now also enables Metalchurch to receive permanent funding from the Reformed Churches of Bern-Jura-Solothurn.
